The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of communications (FMoC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NIRA) and other local stakeholders organized the 2018 Edition of the Nigeria Internet Governance Forum at Shehu Musa Yaradua Center, Abuja. The theme for this Year’s Edition is: “Internet: An Enabler for good Governance”
The Nigeria Internet Governance Forum is the local initiative of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, a multi-stakeholder forum (governments, the private sector, civil society, the technical and academic community) for policy dialogue on issues of internet governance, .

The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) secretariat of the Nigerian Communications Commission hosted the 'South West Zonal Stakeholders Workshop on ICT Utilisation and Sustainability' on 2nd and 3rd of July, 2018 in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.
The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) secretariat is a department of NCC created under the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003 to support the provision of ICT services in unserved and underserved areas of Nigeria. The USPF is a globally accepted vehicle for promoting digital inclusion and rapid extension of information and Communication Technology (ICT) to rural areas in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Communications Commission and the Consumer Protection Council held a meeting on July 2nd, to investigate call masking in Nigeria on the directive of the National Assembly. The meeting was also held to review the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the two government organizations and discuss how to work together to improve complaints resolution of telecommunications consumers.
Speaking at the meeting, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman, NCC, said masking of calls with another number, especially international calls is a matter that has been trending and the NCC has been directed to address it as it has security implications.

The 84th Edition of Telecom Consumer Parliament (TCP) organized by the Nigerian Communications Commission, held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, on 28th June, 2018. The theme of the event is: “Improving Service Delivery to Telecom Consumers: Key to Industry Sustainability".
TCP is one of the robust platforms designed by the Commission to facilitate interaction on issues of common interest among industry stakeholders.
