The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, has called on all Nigerians "to take advantage of the social media platforms to exchange information and participate in the political, social and economic processes of our country in ways that promote peace and enable us to build a more united and prosperous nation".

Danbatta stated this today in Lagos through Tony Ojobo, NCC's Director of Public Affairs, who represented him at the maiden edition of CKN News Annual Public Lecture titled: The Role of the Social Media in the Socio-Economic and Political Development of Nigeria.

The Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, says ICTs and telecommunications have been great enablers of financial transactions and the connections between ICTs and financing with relation to tourism and the culture industry is amazing and can be seen in many ways.

The former Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Alhaji Ahmed Joda last night received the 2016 Zik Prize Award.

The event, which recorded an impressively large audience held at the Civic Centre in Lagos.

The Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, has said as a regulator, NCC is prepared to leverage the "8-Point Agenda to ensure Availability, Accessibility and Affordability of services to every citizen of our dear country, Nigeria".

Danbatta stated this earlier today in his address to the ongoing DIGITAL AFRICA CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION tagged: The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Getting Africa Ready, taking place at the Yar'Adua Centre Abuja.

Students, staff and members of Yaba College of Technology community yesterday enthusiastically received the team from the Nigerian Communications Commission,  NCC, to the campus for the second Lagos Zonal Office edition of CONSUMER CONVERSATION.

Kenneth Uzoekwe, the Zonal Controller, Lagos Operations who represented Professor Umar Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Nigerian Communications Commission at the event told the audience that the programme is part of the activities designed by NCC to give concrete expression to its declaration of 2017 as YEAR OF THE TELECOM CONSUMER.
