The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), collaborating with Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) hosted the 1st Nigerian Public Sector Branding Summit held in Abuja on 11th December 2018.
Beluchi Nwanisobi , Assistant Director, Corporate Planning and Strategy represented the EVC/ CEO NCC at the event.

Former national champion, Thomas Otu, rallied from a set down to win the fourth match that made Team Tech Vibes of Jos the fourth team to win the coveted NCC League Cup. Interestingly, no team has successfully defended the cup.
In a dramatic match watched by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung and the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Otu dashed the hopes of the Kaduna-based Team Offikwu who trailed 0-3 from the previous day and appeared to be plotting a comeback.

The Nigerian Communications Commission organized a North Central Nigeria Stakeholders Parliament with relevant agencies in charge of telecommunications on 6th December 2018 at Lokoja, Kogi State.
The theme of the event was “Optimizing the Benefits of Telecoms Infrastructure in Nigeria” and present at the event were representatives of telecoms-interfacing MDAs of federal and state governments in the region.

The Federal Ministry of Communications held a National Social Media Retreat from 4th to 5th December 2018 at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, with the theme “ Social Media for Good Governance”.
The retreat was to sensitize stakeholders on the importance of social media in government activities, to provide opportunity to get fresh inputs & feedback from the sector’s stakeholders with a view to incorporating their inputs into a National Social Media guide as well as reviewing best practices on policies & programmes which promote social media for good governance.
Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman, NCC was represented at the event by Director New Media and Information Security, Engineer Haru Al-Hassan.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), organized a Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Emerging Technology to discuss 5g Readiness and High Altitude Platforms Stations (HAPS) Development at the Barcelona Hotel, in Abuja on December, 2018.
Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman, NCC, who was represented by Engr. Austin Nwaulune, Director Spectrum Administration, noted that the NCC in its preparation to welcome the 5g Network Technology and its accompanying technologies has began putting in place the necessary infrastructure and interacting with relevant stakeholders and, had identified some of the potential frequency bands that may be harmonised for 5G deployment in region 1.
