The SMP page contains information on
the Commission's current strategic focus.
Since the establishment of NCC, it has made significant progress in
its effort to achieve its strategic aspirations. In the last couple of
years the Commission had played significant role in opening up many
markets within the Nigerian telecommunication industry to competition,
and is still actively pursuing a market driven approach to further
competition, management of scarce national resources, enforcement and
regulatory issues, and consumer protection and education.
The
strategic thrust of NCC Five (5) Year Strategic Management Plan (SMP)
is to ensure that ICT is at the forefront of the Governments drive to
deliver a highly prosperous Nigeria through addressing the issues of
service provision, quality and grade of service and management of a
competitive market environment.
