Nearly all of Nitel’s fixed lines are delivered to subscribers via copper cable, while PTO lines are in the main, wireless connections. Types of fixed lines available in varying degrees include digital, analog, DSL and ISDN. Common transmission modes include TDMA, AMPS and CDMA.

[2] Analog exchanges are being converted, the reason for declining capacity and connections.
[3] All ISDN lines in Nigeria are owned by NITEL.
[4] No PTO has ISDN lines installed, however, a few, namely Mobitel and 21st Century Technologies offer DSL service. Commercial sale however appears limited.
