The Commission in the exercise of its Regulatory functions has decided to publish the telephone network National Numbering Plan and National Numbering of Nigeria. 

The purpose of National Numbering Plan is to set up a numbering scheme and the associated dialing procedures to be used in the network to allow the subscribers and operators to set up calls.

The National Numbering Plan provides, more importantly, uniform dialing procedures for each of the following types of calls:

	Local Calls
	National Long Distance Calls
	Calls to Emergency and Special services
	Independent of where the call is originating from.
